With 11 wins all by way of knockout and submission, Matt Brown definitely knows how to put on exciting fights. MMA SPORTS Magazine caught up with the UFC welterweight, as he gets ready to face John Howard this weekend at UFC on Versus 4.

MMA SPORTS: First of all thanks for doing this interview Matt. You are slated to take on John Doomsday Howard in your next fight, what do you think of John as an opponent?
Matt: He is ultra tough, hard to finish, and seems to find a way to win fights. He has lost his last two, so he has shown some vulnerability’s that I am sure he has worked on. At least I can be confident that he will stand with me though.

MMA SPORTS: As far as styles go, how do you think you matchup?
Matt: I think it's a good match up but I do believe I am a better fighter and will win this fight.

MMA SPORTS: And how do you think this fight will end?
Matt: The fight could end many different ways. Most likely I will break him on the feet, he will shoot, and I will finish him on the ground once he is tired, in my opinion.

MMA SPORTS: Now also, John was not your original opponent, and it seems like you always have bad luck with opponents getting hurt/switched on you for some reason (laughs), does it get annoying? And how hard is it to change a game plan on short notice?
Matt: A fight is a fight. It affects my opponent as much, if not more than me. I am not concerned with what he is going to do; I am only concerned with myself.

MMA SPORTS: You are coming into this fight off of a couple losses, in my opinion you are one of the most constantly exciting fighters in the UFC, but do you feel this fight is a must win type situation?
Matt: Every fight is a must win, this one just happens to be after a couple of losses. So in the sense of maintaining a contract with the UFC, it is 100% a must win. In the sense of living up to my own expectations, it is a must win. In the scheme of life as a whole, a win is only something I desire with all my heart. To show my children and the world what they can accomplish in life with hard work and determination is more important than anything else to me.

MMA SPORTS: And not to call anyone out, but is there any WW's out there that you would like to get a match with? Maybe someone you think would be a fun fight?
Matt: I would like to fight John Howard. Fortunately I am.

MMA SPORTS: You recently moved back to Ohio correct? How has that been going, and where are you currently training?
Matt- Ohio has been good to me, I train mainly at Ruffhouse BJJ, Scott Sheeleys Iron Tiger, Team JG, and SOAR Performance.

MMA SPORTS: Also congrats to you and Colleen on the twins. How does being a dad, change your outlook on the fight game (if it does)?
Matt: Fighting is not my only priority anymore. It is still a top priority, but I had to find a balance between family life and fighting. Before, it was only fighting, then when they were born it was only babies, the balance is difficult but it is necessary for the life of father and fighter.

MMA SPORTS: Nick Diaz vs Georges St. Pierre, who do you have winning?
Matt: I could see it going both ways, but if I was putting my own money on it, I would take GSP.

MMA SPORTS: What has been your most memorable fight to date?
Matt: Pete Sell at UFC 96. Only because it was in my hometown, with all my friends and family able to make it. It was the last fight my father ever saw, and it was a good performance on my behalf.

MMA SPORTS: If the UFC approached you to comeback and do another season of TUF, whether it be as a coach, or some kind of TUF veteran show, would you do it again?
Matt: Yeah, I really enjoyed doing the show and it is nice to focus only on fighting and have everything else in life taken care of for you, that's pretty close to my life anyway since my fiancé takes care of everything for me. I would forget to tie my shoes without her (laughs).

MMA SPORTS: What advice would you give to the up and coming MMA fighters, looking to make a name in the sport?
Matt: Depends on the fighter, every fighter is in a different situation and would require different advice to be honest.

MMA SPORTS: Last one. Last time we spoke I asked you, who you would want to play your role in a movie based on Matt Brown. You quickly answered: Brad Pitt. You still stickin’ by that answer, even though since then, he is going grey and has that weird "Tank Abbott" goatee?
Matt: Don't know a damn thing about actors, or Brad Pitt... I just know all the girls love him, so why not have him play your role? Whoever the girls desire the most at the time, is who I want playing my role (laughs).

MMA SPORTS: Thanks again for your time Matt. Best of luck in your fight, I will be there rooting for ya!
Matt: Follow me on twitter please! @iamtheimmortal I will thank all my sponsors on there!
