Tony:
Just wanted to thank you again Benji for this opportunity in talking
with me, especially before your next fight with Murilo Rua for EliteXC?
Benji: For sure bro, anytime. Publicity is a good thing.
Tony: How’s training been for you in preparing
for this fight with Rua?
Benji: Start today so we will see. lol
Tony: ..lol
Tony: Does dieting play a big factor in your
training as well?
Benji: Oh yeah, I gotta lose 30 lbs in six weeks, so I guess that’s
kind of a big deal.
Tony: And to help prepare you for this fight,
what camp do you train out of?
Benji: Several, I gotta go where bodies are, so I've been training out
of HB Ultimate, CSW with Barnett, and trying to get to Team Quest once
a week as well.
Tony: And that’s something that plays a major
factor in your fighting game, a well grounded training camp?
Benji: Yeah for sure. I don't have the pleasure to be out at American
Top Team training full time now. I have a full time job and have to
get my training in before and after work. Pretty tough. Guess I gotta
step my game up.
Tony: Do you feel you match up well with Rua?
Benji: I think I do. I think I can swing with the best of the sluggers.
I think my wrestling is better, my stand up is as good if not better.
He has some big wins and some big battles in his past. I know he will
be a game fighter. I'll prepare accordingly.
Tony: In the past you’ve fought in venues such
as King of the Cage, UFC, IFL, and now you are with elite XC, is this
the new home for Benji Radach?
Benji: yes! I liked the numbers they were throwing around.
Tony: With a professional record of 18-4-0, does
an athlete such as yourself get nervous or jitters before a fight?
Benji: Every time and if a fighter says no, it’s a lie. Especially,
a big CBS aired show like this one. Damn.
Tony: Aside from training and getting ready for
a fight, what are some of the things you do as an escape?
Benji: Lay at the beach, relax, because there isn't enough of that right
now.
Tony: Is it important to get away from work,
to prevent getting burnt out?
Benji: Well, kind of, however, I have a great opportunity here at LA
Boxing Corporate as well. So, I gotta find my balance.
Tony: Aside from this fight with Rua, what can
we expect from Benji in the future?
Benji: Face Smashing Fu! October is coming fast so brace yourself!
Tony: Thank you again Benji and good luck with
your fight.
Benji: My pleasure man.
